UTD Hackathon #HackDFW #HackUTD

Elevate is partnering with University of Texas at Dallas’s Computer Science Program, and several student organizations to host a college Hackathon.

I have been listening to podcast and reading about Hackathons for some time.  And Elevate, hosted a pseudo-hackathon, to address a product backlog, but this is going to be pretty exciting.  As a title sponsor, we will be able to generate some pretty cool problem statements around some aspects of technology I am green to, but interested in learning more about – Blockchain and AI.  I’ll talk more about this, hopefully in a later post.

In addition to problem statements, we will be serving as mentors to the students that will be working vigorously to create a semi functioning idea in less than 48hrs.   I have the opportunity to speak at the event, where I will be discussing the Day and Life of a Software Developer.  My discussion will cover building your resume/portfolio, interviewing, and ultimately the day to day activities of a software engineer.

Stay tuned for a retrospective, hopefully some video, photos, and more.  I look forward to doing more Tech speaking events for 2018!  So feel free to reach out.
